So i just got this carbon hood real cheap that had been painted red. nbd, but it doesnt match the color of my car. I want to get it back down to the original finish. Only problem is i dont wanna cloud up the clear coat it came with from the factory. So i pose this question, how should i sand this mofo in a way i can still see the fiber? _________________ - Black Japan - |

Your better off getting an Orbital Sander like they use at body shops and goto town on the hood. Be careful thoug and only sand off the clear and the paint and not hit the actual carbon fiber weave. Then when thats done you'll have a dull carbon hood. Have it cleared and it will look fine.
I did this to my old car when I painted the Carbon Fiber hood. When I repainted the entire car i used this process and the hood came out awesome. _________________

Clear it yourself with a Spray Can. Then wetsand and do it again. Its not that hard. _________________
